Daffodil

Daffodils are recognized my most people due to their popularity as an easy to grow flower bulb. Those who pay even more attention will know that Daffodils are also called Narcissus. Narcissus is the Latin or botanical name for all daffodils. Squirrels might dig these bulbs up but they will not eat them due to the poisonous crystals contained in the bulb and leaves.

Daffodils are probably the easiest and most dependable of all the families of flowers and ideal for a beginner in gardening in most regions of the United States. They are tolerant of the cold, and are grown to the Canadian border.
